Cyber criminals will try anything to gain access to your data, including pretending to be law enforcement.
But there are three quick checks you can do to work out if an email you’ve received is a scam:
✅ The email address – Official emails from the SFO will always end in gov.uk.
✅ Links and attachments – In an email, we generally won’t send you links or attachments, so avoid opening these from any suspicious accounts.
✅ Requests for personal details – We will never ask you for bank details or request money.
