Jan. 16, 2025 — A Nashville man was sentenced to 48 months in prison, and three years of supervised release, for orchestrating a scheme to fraudulently obtain emergency rental assistance designated for households affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. On August 12, 2024, Joe Lewis Jefferson pled guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit mail fraud and one count of failure to file a tax return.
