Two arrests in an EPPO investigation by our Rotterdam 🇳🇱 office, where the suspects allegedly lead an international customs fraud ring involving biodiesel imports. The total estimated damage exceeds €60 million.
The suspects have been in trial detention in Belgium since May 2024 in connection with an EPPO investigation by our Brussels office, and are accused of importing biodiesel of US origin while falsely declaring its origin. They were surrendered to the Netherlands under an European arrest warrant.
