The Serious Fraud Office is making it easier for corporates to act responsibly.
Today, SFO Director, Nicholas Ephgrave QPM, launched our new Corporate Guidance so corporates that suspect wrongdoing within their organisation have clearer information about how to self-report.
Our new guidance sets out:
• How corporates can self-report directly to our Intelligence Division.
• Our timeframes for considering the self-report
• What we expect from co-operating corporates
Corporates that report promptly and fully cooperate can expect to be invited to negotiate a Deferred Prosecution Agreement (DPA) rather than face prosecution unless exceptional circumstances apply. This approach ensures faster justice for victims, corporates and taxpayers.
